About Me

Self Portrait

Hi my name is Nathan Nguyen and I am Full Stack Web Developer / Data Engineer. Over my career I've worked with many different technologies for building analytical applications from end to end. I specialize in Python mainly so I can focus on the analytical side, however I do enjoy learning about all the different components to go into an building a product. I'm always looking to grow my knowledge by researching modern stacks and exploring new technologies. Some other things I'm involved in are serving US Army National Guard and teaching sunday school at my local church. I also enjoy playing and watching sports.

Risk Service

  • Processed adhoc requests through our GraphQL instance to calculate risk variables for stocks and options
  • Modeled big data into a tree for more efficient calculations which ultimately saved us over 30% in compute time and cost
  • Demonstrated usage with our AWS cloud infrastructure where I presented findings to other teams
Project 2

TREX

  • Staged raw and processed stock data to be used by traders and quants alike
  • Set up reliable data pipelines for over 40GB/day to our quantitative research teams
  • Managed permissions for our clients to safeguard sensitive actions
Project 3

Wagtail LCMS

  • Built a learning content management system using Wagtail and Django to organize learning pipelines
